Some SAS subroutines seem to crash when my file names and/or file paths include
the "+" character. I have experienced this problem with the tasks dstoplot,
arfgen and rmfgen, all of which are called immediately after evselect, so the
latter may be affected too.

While this is not, by far, something vital for the data analysis, it would be
convenient if SAS supported file names with this symbol, since there are many
astronomical objects that include it, and naming files after them allows
immediate recognition, very useful when working with large samples.

My current SAS version is 11.0, and my operating system is Debian (with GNOME).

If there is an easy way to implement this for one of the next SAS releases, I
would be very grateful.

Dear Beatriz,

the SAS developers informed me that this is a well known SAS feature. The
treatment of these characters in Linux terminals depends on the OS and shell,
so they would prefer to let it as it is for the moment.
