Dear Colleague,

- Please alert us to significant XMM-Newton results
>

I would like to point out the discovery of a cluster of galaxies behind the
Milky Way: Cl 2334+48. Its line of sight passes through the avoidance zone
prevented by extragalactic astronomers and emphasises the remarkable
capability of the XMM to reveal new clusters of galaxies in that zone.
It is the second cluster discovered this way by XMM (the other one was XMMU
J183225.4-103645; Nevalainen et al. 2001).
Please see Lopes de Oliveira et al. 2006, A&A, 459, 415 for details.

Best regards,
 -Raimundo Lopes de Oliveira.

Dear Raimundo,

thanks a lot for informing us about this interesting
discovery. It is very unfortunate that we were not
aware of it much earlier. Given the publication data
11/2006 and the fact that another object was already
detected I have no hope the the public relation department
will accept it for a release.

Thanks again,
Norbert Schartel
(XMM-Newton Project Scientist)

Dear Norbert,

Many thanks for your attention and prompt reply.
I have received another email from Nora, about a possible
image of the Cl 2334+48 in the Image Gallery.
It will be a great pleasure put it in the XMM site. I will do it
as soon as possible (+/- 1 month; unfortunately).

Best regards,
 -Raimundo.

Dear Raimundo,

thanks a lot. It is very important to get
important images in the Image Gallery,
such that they can be used by other
scientists for talks and here are especially
they are important for people who do not
work in X-rays.

Thank you very much in advance
With best regards
Norbert
