SAS watchout page

I get an error when processing my pn data with epframes. Any clues?

A compatibility problem between SAS 6.0 and the latest version of ODFs stored in the XMM-Newton Science Archive has been recently discovered. This problem affects the processing of EPIC PN data in those ODFs containing unscheduled EPIC PN exposures. This problem does not occur with ODFs corresponding to observations performed after revolution 832, or those ODFs received or downloaded from the XSA before 19/05/2004.

The symptoms of the problem is the failure of epframes (either invoked directly or through epicproc, epproc, epchain) with the following message:

epframes: error (NonNumericIPPVvalue), Cannot extract valid numeric value of IPPP `FRAME_TIME_PARAMETER' from string `Unknown'

SAS 6.1 corrects this problem, and is completely compatible with all versions of ODFs. Users are strongly recommended to upgrade to SAS 6.1 as soon as it is available.
