SAS watchout page

My SAS seems to be inconsistent with a MOS redistribution CCF. What can I do?

The recent release of the MOS redistribution CCF files (EMOS1_REDIST_0020 to EMOS1_REDIST_0026, and EMOS2_REDIST_0020 to EMOS2_REDIST_0026) has made them incompatible with SAS versions prior to V5.4. These updates were unfortunately necessary in order to describe the evolving spectral resolution of the MOS detectors.

The problems manifests itself, e.g., when a spectrum is generated via xmmselect, during the calculation of the BACKSCAL keyword by backscale:

" ** backscale::arfgen: error (UnexpectedCcfData), Expected not more than 200 different energies in
`/my_ccf_directory/EMOS1_REDIST_0022.CCF:CCD_REDISTRIBUTION-1' but there are 486 "

Please, update your SAS to the latest version, which is fully compatible with the latest calibration files.
