The circular annulus region in ds9: annulus(x,y,rinner,router) gets imported by xmmselect as annulus(x,y,0,rinner). What is wrong?
In
ds9 version 2.1b4 there has been a subtle change
in the so-called region file format, that leads to the above problem.
It was fixed transparently in SAS v5.3. If you are using
an earlier version, the
following workaround is recommended:
- In ds9, select Edit --> Preferences
--> Region Menu --> Annulus
- In the coming up dialog window change:
- Radius inner from 0 to 10
- Annuli from 2 to 1
- OKay this change
- Select: Edit --> Preferences --> Save
