Can I avoid the strange error from FTOOLS fcalc when running
emchain?
YES, by running emproc instead, which is a metatask performing the same
full data reduction of EPIC MOS data, but not using FTOOLS.
The problem arises by x86_64 type platforms running any Linux OS (not by i386 machines). This has been
reported to FTOOLS Help Desk and they are working on solving the problem. For the time being, and while this
happens or a replacement of the fcalc calls in emchain is performed, we recommend to use the task
emproc for EPIC MOS data reduction.
