SAS watchout page

How do I know which CCF were used to reduce my event list?

All event lists produced by the PPS (or the SAS procs) contain a CALINDEX extension. This extension lists the CCF files that were used to process the data. You can use this extension of the event list as your Calibration Index File (CIF), just pointing the environmental variable SAS_CCF to the event list file name. The variable SAS_CCFPATH needs to be set to the directory where the CCF files are physically located. With these settings, the SAS will try and use the CCF files listed in the CALINDEX extension. If they are not available on your disk an error will be generated.

Because any dataset with a CALINDEX extension can be used as a CIF, commands like cifdiff can be applied.
