Why does "atthkgen" fail due to "time correlation" related problems,
working with the MacOS version of SAS?
With SAS 6.1 we have released a Time Correlation data treatment, based on a new
type of file, containing "Reconstructed Time Correlation (TCX)". This has proven
to solve the problems posed in some observations, containing defects in the
TCS files. The TCS files establish primarily the relation between time of the on-board
clock and UTC. The TCX files correct for anomalies found in some cases by those.
SAS 6.5 established the use of the TCX files per default. However, we have found
(thanks to the feedback of an observer) that this is not true in the case of the
MacOS versions of SAS 6.5., and this can cause serious problems by a number of
observations, by which the anomalies in the TCS are prominent. They are
evidenced by a failure when running the "atthkgen" task, which is part of all
instruments processing metatasks (emproc, epproc, rgsproc, etc.)
How to solve this? Easily: the environment variable SAS_TIMECORR has to be
defined to "TCX" at the beginning of a SAS session.
If using sh please execute the following command:
#>export SAS_TIMECORR=TCX
If using (t)csh please execute the following command:
#>setenv SAS_TIMECORR TCX
