About this Image
These images were taken just before and after the impact of the Impactor released by the 'Deep Impact' spacecraft. The brightening due to the impact (which took place at 05:52UT on 2005-07-04) is clearly visible. These images were taken with the Optical Monitor blue filter, with which it is possible to measure the outcoming gas and dust.
