XMM-Newton Workshop "Supersoft X-ray Sources - New Developments":
presentations available on-line
The Workshop
"Supersoft X-ray Sources - New Developments" (see
issue #80 of the XMM-Newton Newsletter) took place at the European
Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) near Madrid from the 18th to the 20th
of May 2009. About fifty astronomers from Europe, USA and Japan
attended the workshop. The workshop organising committee received
many positive remarks about the meeting from the participants. The
success of the workshop reflected a carefully chosen and focused
scientific program that caught the interest of several of the
specialists in the field.
Presentations of the Workshop and the group picture are now available
on-line at:
http://xmm.esac.esa.int/external/xmm_science/workshops/2009_science/
Refereed workshop proceedings will be published as a regular issue of
"Astronomische Nachrichten (Astronomical Notes)" in
spring 2010.
Workshop participants have been contacted and asked to submit their
contributions by
31st of July 2009.
